WHO MAKES UP THE COMMITTEE?

The 518Bigs Advisory Committee is made up of a diverse group of active Bigs in different stages of mentorship who are passionate about strengthening the Big Experience.

This committee provides a space for mentors to share feedback, serve as peer teachers, and work alongside BBBSCR staff to improve mentor engagement, recruitment & volunteer satisfaction.

CORE FOCUS FOR 518BIGS

This committee exists to empower mentor voices to shape the future of BBBS of the Capital Region programs.

By creating intentional spaces for Bigs to connect with one another, share experiences, and feel supported, 518 Bigs strengthens relationships, deepens engagement, and helps mentors stay involved for the long term.

  1. Building a Strong BIG Community/Culture where Bigs feel a sense of belonging and a shared identity

  2. Strengthen Peer-to-Peer Connection so mentors feels supported, understood and confident in their match.

  3. Create Meaningful Feedback Loops that allow Bigs to help shape the future of BBBSCR.

  4. Support Long-Term Mentor Retention by offering ongoing engagement beyond Match Support.

  5. Grow Community Partners to offer accessible and engaging activities for matches around the Capital Region.
